This book just totally blew me away!! Leslie’s best to date and I am anxiously awaiting what comes next!! And talk about swooning… gah, Mikey!!! He was perfectly flawed and a force to be reckoned with. Mikey and Jessica’s journey will grab you by your heartstrings and not let you go.
Jessica and Mikey became roommates when she decided to accept a job a few hours from home. This was a big deal for Jessica because she has always been there for her family. Growing up with an abusive dad she had always stepped up to protect not only her two younger brothers from his abuse but also her mother. Even after the death of her dad she was still taking care of the family.
Imagine now when Jessica arrives at her new home to find that Mikey, her new roommate, balls deep and buff a** shining when she enter what he said was her room! Red faced, shocked and she couldn’t get the heck out of there fast enough. OMG what had she just done? Let’s just say that this will be a work in progress!
Once Jessica and Mikey finally meet, this time face to face, it’s like love at first sight for them. Jessica has a lot of self-image issues, most specifically her weight, size and how could someone as gorgeous as Mikey like her. Mikey on the other hand loves women with curves but not only that he is a goner for Jessica…she is everything he’s ever wished for.
I love how the two get to know each other. Mikey thinking that Jessica would be some kind of uptight, nose in the air attorney but finding her to be shy and self-conscious with layers of hurt too. Jessica is surprised at how super mellow Mikey is. So, mellow in fact that housekeeping is not his thing. Not only is he a sloppy house keeper but he has a house full of animals. It was only natural to find out he is a veterinarian. Mikey also liked living a little on the wild side too practicing Parkour. (Check this out at –> http://parkour.com/)
In spite of his aversion to housekeeping, he is an amazing cook and confidant to Jessica. And as the Jessica begins to get more and more comfortable around Mikey her layers begin to peel away. Mikey has won her trust so now he’s there to help her obliterate them.
But what about Mikey and his feeling? Just how long is he going to be able to hide them…. blue balls and all? OMG does Jessica start to bloom!! The banter, the flirting and the unbelievable chemistry between them is just so perfect!!
While TGBOF deals with very real issues that people from all walks of life deal with. It was a sensitively written, believable and just down right heartfelt.
